Kites

Lets go fly a kite, up to the highest height !

Beaches are a great location to fly kits, lots of open space, and wind. People will fly kits away from the beach visitors, else they get their lines tangled up.

One of the best beaches I have found for flying kits is the Gower, and in particular the Llangenneth beach. Miles of open space there.

Kites have been a part of history for hundreds of years and is a craft and a sport widely participated in still today. Some cultures have special meanings for kite flying, but for many other people, it is a fun thing to do on a windy afternoon.

A kite is a flying tethered object, the necessary lift that makes the kite fly is generated when airflow over and under the kite creates low pressure above the kite and high pressure below it. The history of kites can be traced back thousands of years to when kites first originated in China. The initial usage of kites was purely military, they were a communication tool. Different messages were communicated mainly via different colour kites.
