Beach Visitor, Open Air Buses

The open air double Dekker buses were very popular along the sea fronts.
Although places like Blackpool had trams, getting from one side of the beach
to the other along the promenade was something you did one way, then
returning by bus.
Open air buses ran regularly along the sea fronts, and it was a great way to
site see, and very cool on a hot summer day.
Mostly people that didn't live in the location sat at the top of the bus,
while the locals were contented to sit below. The hot British weather in
June, July and August insured that these buses were always running, sadly
with the cheap holidays abroad and the poor weather now in Britain, these
buses have mostly died out at the seaside's, but can still be found at many
cities inland.
London city has open air bus tours, but be careful of them as they can be
quite expensive.
When I was young, I always travelled on the open air buses at Aberavon Beach
at port Talbot, that beach had fairground, Pavilions, Paddling Pools, Mini
Golf Course and more, now all gone.
