Lifeboats
The
RNLI is the charity that provides a 24 hour lifesaving service around the UK
and Republic of Ireland. The RNLI provides nine out of ten sea rescue
launches.
Originally called The National Institution For The Preservation Of Life
From Shipwreck by Sir William Hillary, Now known at the RNLI, The Royal
National Lifeboat Institution.
Although there are many lifeboats aboard ships for safety, if you think
of lifeboats you always think of the RNLI. These people get no government
funding, and are volunteers, there to make sure that someone will always
rescue you, if you get into trouble at sea.
So know who they are, make a donation to them, how to get help
And have a safe and present visit to the beach and sea.
