Unlike the Canoe, the
Kayak is mostly ridden by one person, so you will need to get one for each
member of the family. Again these type of craft can be unstable, and
although you will soon get the hang of things, you should always have safety
training before using one, especially taught to get the craft the right way
up if it flips over.
If you fancy sailing in one of these on your own, it is fun, and you will
enjoy them. Quite a lot of beaches have these for hire, if not for the open
sea, they are available in large pools like paddling pools, where there
should always be safety people to help you if you get into difficulties.
Always stay close to the shore, never go out too far, there may even be
safety ropes to stop you sailing to Australia should you get the urge to do
so one you are confident. |
