Shore Urchin

Sea urchins are found in the rock pools, the largest numbers tend to be in the sublitoral zone hence not uncovered by the tides.

Sea urchins are usually well hidden, camouflaging themselves by attaching seaweed to their bodies.

When they die their shells are washed ashore, however because they are fragile they are very quickly destroyed.
